The serial number, - each letter and number of the original is printed separately, hence the distance from the lower edge and the position of each letter and number is a bit different, also the distances between the letters and numbers are different. In 1965 Dupont’s most successful lighter was introduced, it was marked BR (Briquet Reglable).

The lighter had adjustable flame and automatic stop of the gas flow during the flint change. Today’s Line 1 lighters don’t have this function anymore.
